going away................

apparently i am being taken somewhere new

furthermore we are not coming back till next year. she is giggling again

forgets to feed herself, at least she does clean and groom herself but something is up. i have noticed all i am getting is straight cat food.. what ever happened to choice morsels from her meals... doesn't she know you have to eat????

so as i write this she is packing a case and my tray and tins of food.....

just in case she forgets i am sending out mild s.o.s's...... and my pic so if anybody spots me where i shouldn't be they can return me, ....cosy in kensington!!!!!

oh and happy new year to all my feline friends and i suppose their companions!!!

this better be worth it??

i am back from the delayed operation minus two teeth i think , what's left have been cleaned and they sparkle white. i checked in my mirror ... looking good gurl!

downside is, kiku has to try to get a shocking schaparelli pink tablet down my throat twice a day, i let her this  morning but will i tonight? mmmm

my claws are divine but they didn't paint them the glorious shades kiku has on her claws/nails. i had a nip and tuck on mine, cleaned and buffed , very nice.

my throat is a little sore and even more so my gums but that's all. apparently it wont take long.. i know i am in for some serious petting and indulging. now what can i wangle?

something's afoot.............

not been feeling myself lately or perhaps i should say i have been feeling myself too much lately. kiku said something about 'fluffy coat' and overgrooming as if one could!!

i been feeling kind of itchy as if i had univited guests, but my skin is sore and even tho i rasp away at the itch i am not able to aleviate it. kiku grooms me everyday with my own special bristle brush oooh it sooo good, but when she gets near my sore patches i wop her one with my paws mostly with my claws tucked in, but she is a little slow on the uptake poor dear!

finally kiku has caught on and on monday she came home early from work, and lay on the floor beside me and we had bit of a chat. kiku said she was taking me for a short ride to see Emma my pretty vet. i like her, she knows how to hold me and doesn't smell too bad either.

so off we went in the car, kiku was right only 15minutes apparently the traffic was really bad? we arrived at Emma's and just as we were about to go into reception a nasty looking little dog came out of the surgery, well i wasn't going to hang about around that and tried to get back into the car over kiku's shoulder's. she unfortunately held on so tight i dug right into her shoulder and drew blood. well i didn't mean to, if kiku had let me go and if the car door was still open i would have shot in there.. so it was her own fault for not organising that better.

we then went straight into Emma's surgery and on to the rubber top table, oddly quite pleasing..? Emma checked my eyes and teeth and coat, apparently i am in good shape but obviously overgrooming. well i could have told her that.. so as there is too much furball in the base of my stomach it isn't allowing my system to process my food. and all food comes back up with a little of the fur.... well you did ask!! so now i have a little 'cream' to lick off kiku's finger which tastes of marmite and is delicious and very effective it is too .. huge amounts of fur come up now and i seems to be able to digest my food without amiss. thursday was the last day i chucked up anything so as long as the blood tests are ok, something about checking my liver and kidneys there shouldn't be any problem about having a tooth out on tuesday.

unfortunately i am not allowed any food between 8pm on monday night and 9am's appointment at 9am!!! well that won't do at all, i enjoy an early dinner at 7pm and then i sleep through to 6am when kiku wakes and then she feeds me even before she has had her cuppa of tea..

though i have noticed a difference to our schedule... tuesday last kiku didn't get out of bed till 6.20 no matter how much i miaowed in her ear, then wednesday the same but she didn't put down any food till 6.40, i wasnt very happy with that and loudly let her know!!! thursday she got up at 6.30 and didn't feed me till 6.45, friday she stayed in bed with her head under the pillow until 8.20 and wouldn't move no  matter how many times i landed on her, miaowed at her and even put out a tentative 'clawed paw'. i mean it became quite extreme, what is she playing at? yesterday, the same treatment but i let her have twenty minute breaks inbetween the pouncing and finally kiku got up at 8.30. now this morning i am not sure how, neither of us woke until 8.30 on the dot??? so perhaps my body clock is out of kilter? i do remember twice a year we have similar shenanigans with the change in 'british summer time' and the clock going forward or back?!

only two more mornings to go and kiku will take me back to Emma and we will see if i have to have an operation as well as my tooth being removed. and then after a small rest, kiku will drive me home in time for the seasonal festivities... and then we will see what jolly jinks we all can get up too. if i don't have time to post a blog before my anticipated social whirl kicks off, do have a very enjoyable participation in what ever your take on this winter fest is...

enjoy and share your happiness

return of a familiar?

very familiar, that's all i will say about that....

kiku and i had a different holiday in cornwall recently. she hired a 3 bedroomed cottage just outside a tiny village called duloe. the manor house within the grounds has had some famous [?] vicars/rectors in the past one of whom rev. carroll/dobson wrote 'alice' here. i can't remember which was his psuedenim. beautiful georgian house, kiku went a bit funny when walking around it... she's got a 'thing' about georgian architecture

odd really as she is usually only into avant garde, comtemporary and minimilist.......apparently mies van der roe, frank ghery, and f.l. wright reature heavily amongst her books, nuff about her..

we had our usual pleasant journey down to the west country, stopping off at stonehenge for a munch to eat and hello to the old girls [stones!], hardly any traffic on the road and excellent weather. we arrived midafternoon and after receiving the keys to the cottage, kiku took me for a exploration around the abode. well i must say it was up to scratch except kiku forgot my scratching post and i had to get the occasionel scratch in here and there when i thought she wasn't looking!

kiku decide the main double bedroom with bathroom ensuite would be ours, well that suited me fine. which left two other bedrooms and two bathrooms to test each and every day. i led kiku a fine old dance, every time she came back in from somewhere, [shopping, sightseeing, visiting, swimming.. she was relentless] i made sure i was ensconsced in a different room, slept behind a bedroom door once .. that made her fur fly i can tell you!!

i have to say the supply of interesting titbits was up to standard even dare i say above and beyond the call of duty.. how come she decided she had to prep and bake so many different dishes for little ol' me???? the first evening was mexican night apparently chicken fahitas, beef tortillas, salad, tacos, baked skins [?] and a very large jug of margaritas. though i noticed whislt that was chilling in the fridge she was drinking golden tequila.. so why did she bother messing up a perfectly good drink? as long as i had plenty of tastes all for me, kiku could drink what she wanted.

once or twice kiku went out and came back in wet, now that was odd as it wasn't raining and we had a perfectly good selection of washing rooms within the cottage, once she came back scarlet as well as wet, something to do with saunas and steam rooms, why??

oddly enough, family that i recognised came and went even though this wasn't our home and we weren't visiting at their home... something was afoot..

ahah sussed it they are giving me a huge party?

ah no, apparently not, the grande dame of the family was to be 90 and i thought i was the eldest! well when every body arrive from various quarters of the world and locally, there were about 14 - 16 of them right down to two tiny's, one nearly 4 years the other only 20 months, fortunatley neither wanted to pull my whiskers so i allowed them to stroke my fur, they were gentle so i didnt snap but backed off as soon as possible after all i dont like folk taking liberties.

i stayed curled up on kiku's bed during the celebrations which was remarkeably well behaved. if they are to continue like that i may allow them all to visit again. the had mostly gone by midnight though i saw kiku involved in a game of monopoly, looked like she had gathered a vast amount of money but not a lot of property, i shall have to tell her you have to speculate to accumulate...oh she just whispered in my ear, some people just wont sell no matter what the inducements??

ah well not for me to judge.... with all those people i cannot see that much food was eaten, though we ate well for the next few days. was this a success?

after all this time away we eventually had to repack the car, and to be honest i thought there was more to go in than we drove down with? but kiku left an empty seat in the car for me to stretch out on and we eventually returned to london and our 'little' flat.

so now here i am perched on top of her keyboard doing 'my' thing and she is checking my spelling or so she said?

miaow purr to you all later

en vacances

well apparently it is all francaise here

well i don't mind really , kiku brought me back some very acceptable goose terrine from france last weekend. well not exactly FOR me but i managed to persude her that she really needed a taste test it for her??

we are off to cornwall for a holiday, small cotttage [hmmp it sleeps 8?] why its only kiku and moi?

something about a birthday celebration for a 90 year old ... mere kitten, i am going on 91 myself so it's not for me. lots of boxes being prepped in the hall way, some with bottles in, some with appetising aromas. so as long as there is some of that goose??? or apparently not over her dead body andother comments now why not?

fangs for the memory......

so dear feline friends and their companions we are off.......presumably i wil not be able to sit on kiku's keyboard for another couple of weeks, not tht she has allowed me anywhere near lately anyway

abien tot mes amees...........[she's not the only one who can pervert a language ..miaow!!]

smoking mackerel.....................

yup i've  changed habits of a lifetime....

i have always told kiku i do not like things fishy..........except when i do..

well i enjoy the olive oil that the tuna sits in, i enjoy the creamcheese and sliver of smoked salmon from her bagel, i have been known to finish her prawn cocktail as long as it is in mayonaise and not 'rose marie' sauce [ you know that pink stuff that masquerades as cocktail sauce/seafood sauce] yugggh

last week kiku introduced me to a new tasteful wonder, now to give her, her due, she didnt do it deliberately, i just was entranced by the aroma. quite strong actually but set my whiskers twitching.

kiku has taken to eating smoked mackerel, not the paté which does nothing for me but the fullon straight from the fishmonger

so now she is obliged to buy two at a time, and it has worked twice.. now how do i ensure when she goes shopping today that another pair of mackerel are bought, though i overheard her speaking to her sister about kippers????

now what are they? and will i like them??
